On Tuesday 22nd October 2019, the whole of year 6 went to visit the Imperial War Museum. What an amazing time we had! This gave us an opportunity to further our knowledge of World War Two, which has been an important part of our learning journey this term through our story topic, 'Letters from the Lighthouse'.
As we have recently be learning all about evacuees, we thought it would be a fabulous idea to attend the museum dressed up! We thought very carefully about our costumes and even included props such as a gas mask box!
We were lucky enough to talk to World War Two veterans! They amazed us with their interesting stories, fabulous singing and immense pride whilst showing their medals. What a fantastic opportunity. This gave us lots of questions to research when we got back to school.
