Our Timetable

Here you can find some important information to help Year 1 run smoothly... :)

  • Mornings:
    • Classroom doors open at 8.45 am. The Year 1 classroom doors are located in the KS1 building - the second door on the left-hand side of the staff carpark.
    • Children should be in school by 8.50 am and the doors will shut promptly at 8.55 am.  If you arrive after this please take your children to the school office.
  • Hometime:
    • The school day ends at 3.00 pm. Those in Miss Kamarauskas' class will leave from her classroom door at the back of the staff carpark next to the KS1 playground. Those in Miss Archibold's class will leave from the morning drop-off zone.
    • Please be patient while we are ensuring all children leave school safely.
    • We are always happy to answer any questions at the end of the day but ask if you would wait away from the steps until we are available.
    • If your child has forgotten something we would appreciate it if they could wait until the doors are clear before coming back into school to collect their belongings.
  • Spellings and Timestables
    • Spellings and timetables (x2, x10, x5) are taught and tested each week. Spellings will be set on the Spelling Shed website every Monday for your child to learn. Your child will be given a username and password for the Spelling Shed website and the TTrockstars (timetables) website to access at home.
  • Homework:
    • Homework will be set online every Friday to be completed by the following Friday. Homework will be set on the Purple Mash website. Please see the Year 1 Homework page for more information.
  • PE and Forest School:
    • PE lessons for the Autumn Term will be on a Thursday. Your child should come to school wearing their PE kit every Thursday, instead of their uniform. They may wear joggers/appropriate sports gear to keep them warm, especially as most PE lessons will be taken outdoors.
    • Forest School sessions for the Autumn Term will be on a Thursday morning. As PE and Forest School are both on a Thursday, your child can wear their PE kit for Forest School sessions.
    • For Forest school your child will need a pair of wellies (named and labelled), a warm waterproof coat (with a hood if possible), and a hat, scarf and pair of gloves if the weather is particularly cold.
  • Reading:
    • Please listen to your child read every night if possible for approx. 20 minutes.
    • Your child will read with an adult at school each and every week as often as possible.
