We encourage the children to lead their own learning and so we begin each new topic by asking the children what they want to find out, learn about, build and make. We hope to develop their sense of curiosity and build a creative, exciting and stimulating learning environment and provide the children with a broad and balanced curriculum.
Our story topic this term is:
Watch this space for photos of our classrooms as they are transformed into magical, mystical, imaginative wonderlands! Curiouser and curiouser...
The classroom has been transformed into the deep, dark wood for the Autumn term.
Take a look at our wonderful art work influenced by the deep, dark wood.
The children are enjoying exploring the wood, meeting new characters and hunting for the Gruffalo!
Is he in the underground house?
Is he in the logpile house ?
Is he hiding in the trees?
Is he in the mouse house?
Have the woodland animals seen him?
Has he visited the Treetop Cafe?
Jacob has not seen him!
Poppy has not seen him either!
In Year 1 we follow the Golden Rules.
We use a range of approaches to learn new concepts.
We remind ourselves why we are so special.
We use mixed media to create display artwork.
Beware of the Gruffalo!
