In Year 1 we try to make the children's learning creative, stimulating and exciting.  We use the different learning areas to carry out activities which may include construction, creative, small world, malleable, reading and role play activities.

       

We follow a STORY TOPIC approach which provides the children with a thematic, broad and balanced curriculum.

SUMMER TERM 2022

This term our story is The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch by Ronda and David Armitage.

The children have loved creating their art work for this terms story topic. We have also studied work by the artist Margarethe Vanderpas whose oil paintings gave us inspiration to create our own artwork to fit alongside our story topic work.
