Homework will be set every Friday and is to be completed by the following Friday (1 week later).
Spellings for your child to learn will be set every Monday via the Spelling Shed website. This will commence from Monday 14th September. Spellings given are set for your child's age and to recap previous phonetical learning.
Our aim in Year 1 is to ensure that the children experience a smooth transition from the Foundation Stage to Key Stage One. The Year 1 curriculum builds upon and extends the experiences that the children have had in the Foundation Stage.
Learning through play continues to be an important part of the school day and the children are gradually eased into more formal learning as the year goes on so that they remain motivated, enthused and eager learners.
Walking into the Year 1 classroom feels like stepping into the pages of our Story Topic book.
