In Nursery we provide every child with many opportunities to be involved in purposeful, playful and practical learning.

The children are given the chance to take part in lots of different activities through the use of story topics, which encourages them to be creative and independent learners.

This term our topic is all about...

Over the course of the term the children will be learning new skills through a range of different story topics including...

'When street rat Aladdin frees a genie from a lamp, he finds his wishes granted. However, he soon finds that the evil has other plans for the lamp -- and for Princess Jasmine. But can Aladdin save Princess Jasmine and his love for her after she sees that he isn't quite what he appears to be?'

'When Hansel and Gretel find themselves lost in the forest, their discovery of a cottage made of sweet treats is a welcome surprise. But the owner is not so sweet! How will they escape?'

'Who keeps helping the old shoemaker and making such wonderful shoes while he sleeps? And how can the shoemaker repay their kindness?'

We love to immerse ourselves in our story topics by creating vibrant and exciting learning environments. This helps support our learning by encouraging and engaging us. We also create role play areas linked to the topics which enhances our imaginations and contributes in our ability to think creatively.

After learning all about the story of Aladdin, we dressed up as genies from a magic lamp.

We went on a walk around our school field looking for signs of Autumn. We made journey cards and looked at the pattern of tree bark by completing tree rubbings. We also explored our allotment, sensory garden and visited our chickens. We had so much fun!
