As part of school council this year, our Year 6 members had the priviledge of attending the King's Hall in Stoke to take part in Local Democracy Week! Here, we met with local councillors who discussed their roles with us and wanted to hear about our views and what improvements we would make to our society. We discussed important matters such as litter and parking and felt that our voices were heard.
To top off this exciting day, we got the opportunity to visit the Lord Mayor and her chambers, there was even a quiz to complete! We learned so much about her role and even got to see her in the room where all the decisions are made!
After that, it was as if we had aged 8 whole years as we got the chance to experience voting! We entered a 'polling station' and voted on how we would wish to recieve information. It was very exciting!
